    Mr. W. P. Hanly of Lanespark who had a big queer looking machine for knocking down the houses and it was called the "Battering Ram." It was a fierce thing whatever it would strike against it was sure to knock.
    Up around the "Devils Bit" this was very much disliked and he did awful damage. There was a woman very sick almost dying and the day he came she was very bad. He came around and ordered the woman out of her house with her four children and a baby of four months out (on) in frosty weather.
