    Hawk O'Brien was called the bird-hurler of the town. Doctor Calaghan Clonmel was the world's champion in weight throwing. He won several events. He was in Templemore about three years ago.
    J. J. Ryan Nenagh was the champion runner of Tipperary about twenty years ago. Pat Maher was the best from Two-mile-Borris. He was the best Cross Country runner.
