  1. Mostly on Shrove-tide marriages take place. The people say it is unlucky to get married in the month of May, and in Lent. Yes matches a re made in our district. Both parties meet in a house and the fathers and the mothers ask their children are they willing to marry. Then if they are the father and mother tell how much of a fortune they have to give their children.
