    When the potatoes begin to come up, the furrows are dug between the drills and they are weeded. Then when the potatoes come up strong they are moulded up with earth.
    When September comes the potatoes are dug out and put into pits. When the day of digging comes the man that ownes the potatoes has some men there to help him. Each man takes his spade and puts it down into the clay and roots out the potatoes. Then they are chosen and the good ones are put into one put and the bad ones are put into another pit and kept for the hens and the pigs. They keep some of the
