- When the wind blows from the north it is said that it brings cold harsh weather. Sometimes too it brings snow as is said in a rhyme. "The north wind doth blow and we shall have snow". The wind from the east brings showery weather. The north-east wind is supposed to bring a disease. If the wind is blowing from the west sleet and hail are expected.
