    they would rub goose grease to them and it would make them all right.
    A cure they had for a heart burn was to drink a sup of water and a spoon of bread-soda in it.
    A cure they had for a sore-throat was to gargle the throat with salt and spring water.
    A cure they had for chilblains was to rub them with paraffin-oil.
    When a child would have cradle-cap on its head they used to rub glycerene on the head.
    When they had a sty in their eye they used to rub a fasting spit on it.
    A cure they had for a swollen hand or arm or leg was to put a poultice of linseed meal to it.
    If they had a thorn in their finger they would steep loaf bread in boiling water and put it to it.
