    situated in the parish of Templetuohy. It takes its name from the number of oak-trees which grew here in ancient times.
    (Doire - Dair = oak)
    In this townsland is a huge rock strongly resembling a "Druid's Altar". This rock is also supposed to be a "Mass Rock" where Mass was celebrated in ancient times.

    CRANAGH:-
    This place takes its name form the number of trees in this locality. It is also situated in the parish of Templetuohy. Cranagah comes from the adjective "Crannach".

    BAWNAUGHRA:-
    means "white acres". It takes its name from the quantity of white grass or sedge which grows in this place.

    CLONBOO:-
    pronounced Glen-na-Boo which means the glen (or "cluain" - meadow) of victory. In the year 1174 A.D.
