    came back again. There is a fort on the lands of Mr. Gerald Flynn in Killard. This is called a "cathair". When the people were evicted and blackthorn bushes were planted. They never came to anything.
    People say its not right to interfere with forts. It is not right to cut down trees. There are many stories told about people who did interfere with them. Here is one of the stories I heard:
    There was once a man living near one of the forts in Mr.Biggs' of Ashley Park. His name was James O'Brien. One day he was going through the fort. He was going home from Puckane. He saw some nice rotten trees. He pulled down a thin one and dragged it away home after him.
    When he reached home he had to light a fire. He broke up the tree into bits and put
