  1. On a Summer's morning as the day was dawning
I perarmbulated to ease my mind,
The feathered songsters with joyful concert
    To hail the splendour
    They were much inclined.
I being a stranger and fearing danger,
    I remained in ambush,
    And watched with care,
    The woods surrounding,
    The birds expounding,
The joys and pleasures of Sweet Adare.
    II
It is surrounded by many a valley
    Where art and nature
    Are both combined,
Fair Carass and its pleasant landscapes,
And Sweet Clarina its Lordships prime.
The Tervoe shades are so solubrious
Do contest in honour with grand Curraghchase
But all inferior in style and grandeur,
Must pay their homage to Sweet Adare.
