  1. My native village has much history attached to it. In olden times many heroes were known in the place. Ned of the Hill was believed to be born in the Townland if Foilaclog near Cappwhite. He was a Rapparee and the English were always on his track. When he was been followed by the English he emigrated to a foreign land. When he was out of danger he came back again, where he died and is supposed to be buried in Doon. When O' Sullivan Beare was evicted out of his castle in Kerry on his way up to the North of Ireland it is believed that he rested in Ironmills near the village of Cappawhite.
