  1. Old Ruins
    An old ruin of historical interest is the moate of Donohill. Long ago during the troubled time it is said that underground passages were made for the use of communaction in many districts in Ireland.
    Donohill is situated about four miles from Cappawhite. There is said to be an underground passage connecting the moate with the Castle of Ballyshedy.
    At the present day it is said that the moate is occupied by the fairies and the ticking of a clock can be heard. Gold is believed to be buried underneath the moate.
    Not very long ago the people were going to blow up the moate, but they were prevented when they would stand on the moate a house in front of it would appear on fire to them. So this
