One night as the cocks they were crowing
A loud knocking cam to my door.
I though twas the boys were returning
From an ambush way down in Rossmore.
I gazed through a slit in a window
As grand a sight sure my eyes never see,
As those bold and those fearless irregulars
Wearing Erin's proud banner of green.
They stepped inside my poor cabin
And stacked up their guns on the floor
"It's a very cold night" said the captain
To be crossing your sweet "Galtymore"
Come fill us a glass and we'll pay you,
Though we are traitors to England's proud Queen.
