  1. A long time ago people were in the habit of putting the fowl over the door of a dwelling house. A number of card players used come every night playing cards. This night they lost their tempers and were using very bad language. They were playing on until twelve o'clock, then the cock crew and flew down on the table and scattered the cards about the floor and quenched the candle which was used in in those times. The people got frightened and went away home.
