  1. Once upon a time there was a priest living in Ballyagran Co.Limerick. He was a parish priest. There was an old man living near him in from the roads a couple of fields. One night the old man got suddenly ill. When the priest got an account he was in bed, but he got up and dressed himself and he went out and put the saddle on his horse. Nearly all priests had horses that time. There was no bicycle or motor that time. When he went to the old man's house the old man was dying. When the old man was dead the priest went away, and he was not gone far when he had to get off of his horse to open a gate. There was an old house near and he heard someone singing inside. When the song was finished a big black dog walked out and the priest cursed the song.
