  2. In the year 1929 there was wicked rain which caused a severe flood. The damage done in this locality was fairly bad.
    The Muicneac is the name of a very small river that flows past my house. This river swelled and swelled until it overflowed its banks. Then everything that came in its way it swept it before it.
    All the time it was rising, my father was afraid it would come into the dwelling house as the Muicneac is only a few yards away from my door.
