    And I went into a tailor's shop,
    I was scarcely sitting down,
    When in came the Sergeant and his men,
    Like bull dogs from the town,
    I buckled up my boots, my boys,
    And made out for the hills,
    The Sergeant followed after me,
    But thanks to God he fell,
    I hid myself in a furze bush,
    Above in Con Hoy's grounds,
    And if I stopped there for seven long years,
    I never would be found.
