    When the good ship struck upon the rock
    The captain he did say
    Now lower your starboard lifeboats and try your lives to save
    I hope, I pray, I thrust in God that none of us will meet with a watery grave
    The forehead lifeboat was lowered down,
    And she was fully manned before she reached the water
    The forehead tackle jammed
    The after one went by the run
    And the boat she swung around
    And the crew got in the water
    And nine of them were drowned

    The after lifeboat was lowered down
    And all the crew got safely in
    The captain for the last.
    But one huge wave came rolling on
    And swept the boat away
    And left him to his precious life
    That night in Dunlough bay
    He tried to reach the rigging
