- (continued from previous page)often you would see a horse shoe fastened to the door, as an omen of good luck. There is also to be seen in the farm yard some poultry. Some people think it is lucky to set eggs under a hen on Good Friday, and unlucky to set them on the month of July. The reason is we often have thunder storms, and the noise of thunder would kill the birds.
