  1. The ruins of an old forge are still to be seen about a mile from this school. One night when the smith was leaving his forge a man from Ardgrom was coming from Castletown. He saw a light in the forge and thought it was the smith at work. He entered the forge and found a crowd of fairies around the anvil. The man got afraid and ran to the door. "Come back" said one fairy. The man obeyed the order and he worked very hard that night. The man asked permission to go home and one fairy tackled a horse. The man reached home at three o'clock in the morning.
