"The Monument" is the name given to a portion of a field, adjoining a road, leading on to the main Rd. (From Kilkenny to Dublin) in Clara. At present, there is a cluster of trees and shrubs growing there. It is supposed to be the burial-place of some of the "White-Boys", who were in a skirmish with Crown Forces.
