  1. Fairies are still believed in in this District - particularly the "Banshee", "Púca" and "Leprecán".
    They are supposed to live in "raths" or "fairy forts". Rath is usual name for these places here.
    There are a few raths in the district of which the usual legends are told. They are circular in shape.
    1. Rathbourne, one of the townlands of this parish takes its name from a rath in that neighbourhood.
    2. In Grangehill in Clere Parish there is also a Rath about which many stories are told.
    3. In Moon-Hall near Grangehill there is also a rath. They are situated on hills. There is a story told about a man who lived in Grangehill at one time, who ploughed the
