  1. "Settle-beds" were used some time ago. They were made of timber and painted. At night, when in use, they were let down on to the floor - having been closed up during the day and in use as a seat.
    They are now gone out of use and very rarely seen.
    In the kitchen they were usually placed.
    Spinning-Wheels - There is only one in the district at Mrs. Quirke's, Templemartin, Kilkenny.
    Quern for grinding Corn - Only one to be seen in locality at the house of: Mr. Tom Carroll, Grangehill, Co. Kilkenny.
