In olden times, a fair used to be held in every parish.
Templemartin Cross Roads - was the place in this parish where the greatest fair of the year was held.
Money was not in use at the fairs those days. It was too scarce. People exchanged things - maybe cows for a horse ans loads of hay or straw or potatoes for cattle or sheep.
A "pattern" was held in connection with the fair, and people from all parts of the Parish came to the fair.
