  1. It is said that you should always throw away the water after washing your feet, because spirits would remain in the water, if you did not.
    In this parish, there is only one shoemaker & 3 men who repair shoes. There are not as many shoemakers or cobblers as in former times on account of all the factories.
    Peoples who have to work on the farm in the wet wear clogs.
    It makes the feet strong & hardy to go barefoot.

  2. In olden times, after washing the feet, they used throw the water at the back of the fire so that the fairies would have nothing to do with it.
