- A giant threw a rock from Sliabh na mban to Ballygown & it landed in Mr Conways field where it was to be seen up to about three years ago, when it was taken & broken as the field was being tilled.
- There is a slope in a mountain near Sliabh an mban & it is said that a giant took the piece out of the mountain with his mouth & placed it in Cashel. Hence the Rock of Cashel.

- One evening in the month of Oct., two boys were coming home after a day's hunting. They had to pass the old castle at Castlemorris. Just as they were passing it, they heard the most awful sounds up in the sky. They were so frightened that they had to sit down. The noise continued for a long time
When the boys were ready to go, out walked a big giant, as they thought, out of the castle,(continues on next page)
