  1. A Song (continued)

Here in Kilkenny, we're run off our feet

    (continued from previous page)
Eah one complaining in a different way
For some bless the day the factory was built
While more people say "It'll have us all killed"
In the heart of the postman red-hot rage burning
When he shoulders his bagful of factory-returns
And the gentleman driving his car on the road
Says Bad luck to those farmers, themselves & their loads."
Transcribed by a member of our volunteer transcription project.
  2. A Song

Roll along Black Maria, roll along

Roll along Black Maria, roll along,
To the turn of your wheel, I sing a song
If the farmers do not pay, we will take their stock away.
Roll along, "Black Maria, Roll along.
Composed by the "Flying Squad" when taking cattle &c from the farmers who refused to pay their annunities.
Transcribed by a member of our volunteer transcription project.
