    There are 8 rows of potatoes sown on our land every year, never any more or less.
    The workman prepares the ground. The ground is not manured before being ploughed up.
    The potatoes are sown in druills not in ridges.
    The drills are made by iron ploughs as there are no wooden ploughs nowadays.
    Small gardens are dug with spades.

    The potatoes are cut in slips, and each slit must have at least three eyes.
    The neighbours round this locality help one another in sowing potatoes.
    One of them drops the slits while the other puts in the dung.
