  1. I know two fairy forts in our locality.
    (1) The Witches Cave and
    (2) The Sorrel Rath.
    The Witches Cave is situated in the townland of Grange. Parish of Allen, and barony of Connel.
    It is a vast square cave under a rock with a small hole for an entrance.
    It is said that an object in the form of a white calf comes out of it every seventh year and if anyone catches him they will have to go in with him. People have often heard the sound of music in it.
    The Sorrel Rath is situated in the townland of Dunmurray, parish of Rathangan and barony of Connel.
    It is circular and it has a large entrance.
    No one has ever gone into it.
    It is said that a certain man was passing one night and to his surprise he saw hundreds of cats about the rath. Some people have heard the sound of
