    If the bride be a widow or the bridegroom a widower there is usually great blowing of horns a few weeks before the marriage takes place.
    Money is usually given as dowry and sometimes a cow or a calf or a pig is given also. But if the bridegroom is fairly old and expecting a young wife he will take her without any money. Marriages used to take place in the house up to about fifty years ago.
    It is the custom to throw a shoe or a horseshoe or a small quantity of rice at the wedding car as it passes you. A wedding feast is usually held and there is often great dancing and music etc carried on in the bride's house for it is there that the marriage feast usually takes place.
