  1. (1) It is said that when the sun sets like a red ball it is a sign of fine weather.
    (2) When the sun sets with rays coming straight down from it, it is a sign of rain.
    (3) When the clouds are high up in the sky it is a sign of fine weather, but when they are low down it is a sign of rain.
    (4) When there is a heavy smell in the air it is a sign of a coming thunder-storm.
    (5) When the sheep start to graze early in the morning it is a sign of rain.
    (6) If the sheep do not start to graze until late it is a sign of fine weather.
    (7) When the soot falls down the chimney it is a sign of rain.
