One night late as a man was coming up near Coolderry, he heard an unusual noise across the wall. He looked over and saw a number of little men dancing. They invited him out and he joined in the merriment. Two men, living nearby, heard the laughter and looking out, came to his assistance to take him home.
A battle followed, and the three men got away safe, but in the morning, the two, who interfered, were found dead in their beds.
