   There were a great many poets in Ireland long ago. In this district there were a great many good poets. They used to make poems about happenings in the district. Sometimes the songs they made were about men. In the townland of Derryvollen there was a family called Maguires and they made songs. "The Maid of Sweet Kilmore" was made by William Smith. "The Burning of Roslea" was made by Michael McCaffrey, of Lannet, Roslea.
