- (continued from previous page)of buttermilk and cream of tartar. A drop of water, some soda and cream of tartar is a cure for a headache. Burns are cured by some baking-soda.Forge-water is a cure for chillblains. Petrol is good for chillblains.
- The toys children have made and can make are tops, snares, dulls, and "cleevans". They make the tops from spools. They cut the bottom off the spool to a sharp point. Then they cut tracks in it and put twine in the track and in this way they are able to spin their tops.
Snares are used to catch rabbits. The way to make a snare is to get six pieces of them wire and plait it together. Then get a piece of a rope and tie it to the wire and tie a stick to the rope. Then put the wire in the shape of an O on a rabbit trail and the rabbit will run into the snare and be caught.
Cleevans are made from pieces of sticks. They are used to catch birds.(continues on next page)- Collector
