I live in the townland of Carrowgavan in the Parish of Killoran, in the Barony of Leyny in the Co. Sligo.
The people in this Parish nearly always get married before Lent. Some people get married on Sunday more on Tuesday. People say that if one gets married on Sunday they will have luck all their life. Tuesday is for wealth. but Thursday is the best day of all. When the people get married on Saturday they have no luck. Then the people get married hey have a bride's-maid and abridegroom. it is a custom that people throw rice at the people who get married
