How to Burn Lime.

I live in the townland of Knockadoo in the Parish of Killoran in the Co. Sligo. Lime is made in this manner.
Firstly a big round hole is made in a ditch and it is built inside with stones.
Then turf are put into the hole, and these are lightened. When they are well lighted some lime-stones are put in an top of the stones and when these are burned into lime the fire is put out then the lime is fit for use.
