  1. Food in Olden Times.
In olden times the food they had was very different to what it is now. When the people got up in the morning they did all the work about the house before they ate anything. Then they came in and their breakfast consisted of plenty of oatmeal porridge and a saucepan of butter milk. Then they went out to their day's work and their dinner was a big pot of ''bally'' and a plate of butter or on a fast day some oatmeal porridge. In the evening they got tea and oatmeal bread. Then before they went to bed they would have porridge again.
