  1. One night a priest was coming home late, when he saw a light under a tree beside the road. He went towards it, and as he came near he saw a man sitting on a stool, before a small table, on which lay a pack of cards.
The mana sked the priest to have a game of cards with him, and the priest said that he would. He sat down on a small rock beside the table and began playing. The priest won the first two games. During the third game, a card fell to the ground, and the priest stooped to pick it up. He nearly fainted when he saw that the man had cloven feet and a tail. He jumped up and ran for hime. The man with the cloven feet and tail ran after him. When the priest was entering his own door, a dagger stuck in the door over his head. He fell on the floor unconcious. He knew that it was the devil who had tried to kill him.
