Just outside a town in the south of Ireland there is a great lough where the people in the winter go to skate, but the sport above the water is nothing to what is under it, for at the bottom of this lough there are buildings and gardens far more beautiful than any now to be seen, and how they came there was in this manner:- Long ago there was a great king of the water out of he well she found the vessel so heavy that she lost her balance and fell in. The young prince tried to save her but the water rose and rose until the whole palace was covered by this lough and so the present lough was formed.
