    and buttermilk were used in baking. This along with butter was used, as well as milk - fresh.
    When eating the table was placed in the middle of the floor. This has changed and now is placed next the wall. In some cases the table was hung up, but then it was only in houses a large family and a small house. With the coming of tea about 70 years ago, this custom died out. Even then it was a luxury, only used by the rich, and used very sparingly; once a day and only on very special occasions, such as Xmas Day, Easter Sunday. Gradually the custom grew to today
