- The famine caused terrific damage along her. The people depended on them solely. It came slightly in 1845 and affected only the bog areas. In 1846 the entire country was affected. The potatoes rotted in the ground, melted away, except in 3 places. One of those men, Michael Langan, Caons, had a little very small ones.
