  1. Barker was the gamekeeper during Askley's time. He was a real tyrant and annoyed the tenants in every way. Then the farmers used to put up seaweed and cart across from the sea shore to their farms. Sometimes they used to spread it out to dry before bringing home.
    He objected to this and summoned 13 of them.
    Andrew Murtagh, Pat Gilgan, John Timonly, Rodger Currie were the ring leaders. They were brought to Grange and fined. They refused to pay the fine and were sent to gaol. The locals brought an ass
