  1. 1 Ghosts are to be seen at times in every place around Lackenasleva which is my own townland. there are many old sayings about the ghosts of Lackenasleva. One night a man was coming home from a dance; it was bout one o'clock and when he was passing Miss Kilcullen's Post Office he saw some black person standing outside the door. He went on a few yards, and after a while, he looked back and saw it following him. He walked fast and it kept after him until he came as far as "Cowel's Hill." And it disappeared all in a sudden. Every place there is an evil spirit. "The day is for the living and the night is for the dead."
    II Many strange things appear in the night time. Some of these might be poor Souls
