- There is a holy well in Johnstons field of Mohill. It was in a tree which was in a meadow. In Summer when the grass was long people were going to it and tramping down the grass so Johnston said he would cut the tree. The well moved out of this tree by night and went to a tree in a lane and is there since. The well is called Saint Sans[?] well and she is supposed to be buried in the wall of the Protestant Church of Mohill. It is said that if you drink some of the water it is a cure for a headache. Tuesday and Friday are the days for going to it and people leave a penny or tie bits of strings or rags on bushes around it.
