    Of noble looks was he
    A stalwart youth so stout and strong
    With courage bold and free
    The flush of youth was on his cheek
    His spirits light and gay
    Such sons did Irish mothers rear
    Round deep Sheephaven Bay.

    As near her side he drew
    "Farewell" said he, I'm glad to see
    There's one heart ever true
    The words they said when parting on
    That lovely Autumn day
    Would cheer the lonely vigil out
    In deep Sheephaven Bay.
