    hankerchiefs and every one that hadn't a hanker-chief they would have to give their shawl or apron.
    When he had them all gathered any - boy that a girl would leave the pledge on to release the hankerchief for her. Then anything she would tell him to do he would have to do it. If she told him to sing a song and so on until all the hanker-chiefs were got back again. They never painted the coffins. They carried them on sheets to the Cemerty and buried them as usual. They used no Head Stones in these days only flat flags.
