Thee year of the famine the potatoes failed, the oats turned black and rotted, there was no turnips or cabbage, or wheat except very little food stuff, because all the grain and cattle were exported to England. There was somebody was appointed in every district to distribute the oat meal to anybody who was very poor, but very few used to get it.
