- The people in former times used to seek remedies for their ailment by visiting holy wells and by going to certain people that had cures and also be herbs and animals.
To cure a toothache people used to get a frogs head and rub it of their teeth. They used to store up the fat of a goose and use it for burns.
People also used get food that the ferret left behind, it used to cure the whooping cough. They used to visit a holy well which was called Tobar na Súil and wash their eyes in it to cure them.
