It was a "Harvest Home'- the only one at which I ever had the good luck to be present, for in my native Meath such festivals were altogether unknown to us- and such another scene of unalloyed delight I have not known in all the years since then. Our host- God rest his soul, he has gone to his reward since then- was one of the most prosperous farmers in the whole country-side.
