  1. "A day in the bog"
    Boys and girls living in the country have a good knowledge of farming because from their earliest years they help their parents on the light side of farming operations but perhaps one of the most attractive day was a day in the bog.
    About a week ago my brother and two sisters and I were out and about at an early hour, so early that we did not think anyone was up in the village. When we had our breakfast taken we set out for Cockstown bog which is about six miles from my home. As we were going along the road we could see the blue smoke curling up from the chimneys.
