  1. Bread 23-6-1938
    In olden times people made different sorts of bread but it was not the same as the bread that is made now. They made their bread from oaten meal, potatoes and wheat . If they used all wheat they would not have enough for the year because when they were tilling for the crop the spade was the only thing they had for digging and they could not sow much of a crop.
    They threshed the wheat and corn with a flail and ground it with querns and from the wheat they made wheaten
